The Identity Thief

Hollis Morgan, who had served time for her ex-husband's white-collar crime, possessed knowledge about the inner workings of criminals' minds. However, her initial encounter with a criminal case proved to be more complex than she had anticipated. Her client, a young man initially accused of identity theft, was later charged with murder. Despite his continuous lies, Hollis, an expert in detecting falsehoods, did not believe he was capable of murder. As a ploy, Eastland was released on bail while Hollis fought to keep him safe. To ensure his safety, she sought the assistance of her young friend Vince, whom she had previously helped recover from addiction. She instructed Vince to never let Eastland out of his sight.

Simultaneously, Hollis found herself dealing with a delicate probate matter involving a whistle-blower seeking refuge from a vengeful cartel. Trust did not come easily for Hollis, and in both cases, she encountered numerous individuals withholding crucial information. Despite this challenge, Hollis remained confident in her ability to decipher truths from half-truths and outright lies. However, she questioned the reliability of her own instincts. Hollis's pursuit of justice sometimes disregarded legal norms. If her instincts failed her, both her clients and innocent lives could be at stake.
